About the Author

Paddy Sammon was born in Dublin and educated at Belvedere College and Trinity College. He has a passion for languages and speaks Irish, French, German and Modern Greek. He has also studied Italian, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Arabic and Japanese. He works in the Irish Diplomatic Service.

Paddy Sammon contributed a chapter entitled "Lafcadio Who? Rathmines boy makes good in Japan" to the book With Trust in Place: Writing from the Outside.
